This school is sooooooo SHADY!!!!

First, St. Chris will NEVER tell you where they have clinicals. Perspective students always ask this question and it is mandatoryvery important they know to make thier decision on what school to attend. US Clinicals are one of the prime reasons students are willing to attend a foreign school. Not everyone has the money to visit St. Chris and ask students where they do the clinicals.

What does St. Chris have to hide? Clinicals not that great? It is of no use hiding where they do clinicals. If SGU or Ross wanted to steal your clinicals then it is will easy to do NOW. What gives?

And no announcement when the agreement with Univ. of Luton is cancelled? What? I called St. Chris office and they avoided the question and started talking about something else. ahem, shady.

and you aren't allowed to post professor's names on the conference? What is the purpose of keeping the teaching staff secret? The school is acting like it is training double O agents. St. Chris needs to get the shadiness out of them, and quick.

Hiding clinical sites is no good. I didn't know this until I actually called up St. Chris, and heard for myself how they actually "hide" clinical sites. I think they should know clinical sites are important to US students considering medical education abroad.

First off, I love your ValueMd screename. You couldn't have made it more obvious that your a Caribbean school promoter/lover and that your main goal is to start unjustified bashing . Second, clinicals here are kept hush hush because yes, they are VERY good. I have actually had a meeting with Dr. ***** and spoke to him about them and was told about a few sites that I was interested in. I was pretty amazed to see what was available. Also, I was told, the reason it isn't made publicized to people outside of the school is because schools in the past have tried to send students to some of our clinical sites by using the St. Chris name. I personally think that it would cause an uproar amongst the student body in the other schools if they found out what sites St. Chris has available. Not too healthy for the admin of the "other" schools, don't you think? Third, you can't just call up the offices and start asking for sites because they probably won't know. The Director and Dean of the school only know about them in detail and they actually sit down with you to discuss them. Once again, if you have faith then come to the school and if you are really interested in this school, you can def have the time and money to visit it. I am sure we all visited colleges when we were gettin out of high school so its no big deal. If you are cautious and are very paranoid, then I suggest you don't come here. THis is a medical school and you are coming here to study and work hard. I actually came here without visiting the school and I am pretty happy about it. I also love the fact that I can go to London every weekend, or even travel to any European country for only about 60 pounds a ticket. Also, with the whole University of Luton thing, I don't see a difference with or without using their facilities. The school is more than capable to function on its own. ALso, I actually went to the Univerisity of Luton the other day and they still honor your St. Chris ID card when you need to use their libraries and computer labs. Basically you have access to the whole Univeristy with your ID cards. As for the science labs, St. Chris is making their own labs as they continue to expand in their current building. With the whole enrollment thing, the school actually does cap off the number of acceptances. It was around 60 medical students and then add the rest who are pre-med and transfers so it should be around 80-85 total students in a given semester. The school can easily accept the 300 kids a semester the other schools let in, but then what would be the purpose of that? Anyways, I haven't bashed anyone or anything in my post so hopefully your replies will be the same. Thanks. Once again if you have any questions about the school, please PM me and I will try to get you an answer.

meetings

i know one person who transfered there and is generally happy so the school must be doing something right. as for sitting with admin and being "told" what the clinical sites are i don't think it is of much value. these people are business people first which easily translates to salespeople who will tell you whatever you want to hear. granted i have no knowledge of any admin there but have had my fill of two faced seemingly trustworthy admin in the workplace. unless you personally know people at the sites i would take it cautiosly. i know auc has clinical sites in new york because i know students there, i know they have them in chicago because i worked at a hospital that had our students and residents from auc and ross, i know we have 4 sites in california, and a bunch in michigan, maryland, ohio, ireland, uk because the progarm directors come down every semester to recruit students and i am told that we will have sites in miami and louisiana soon now which am i more inclined to beleive?

also

also, adding to my previous post: I dunno about anyone else, but I find it very funny that out of the 200 something students in Luton (St. Chris) right now and about 90% of them who know about this forum, that only 1 current student has criticized the school and the same person is transferring to St. Matthews from what I know, and that a few people who haven't even seen the school or don't even know anything about the school other than false rumors are making false conclusions about the school.
Hmm... I guess I got nothing to worry about then.

Good Luck with exams on Monday!!

Just to add, I personally know people in NY, Conn, Michigan, Missouri, illinois, and georgia. Plus, the school set up several people in my class (including myslef) at an extremely good university program in the south as well as maryland and the places listed above.
