Second, clinicals here are kept hush hush because yes, they are VERY good. I have actually had a meeting with Dr. ***** and spoke to him about them and was told about a few sites that I was interested in. I was pretty amazed to see what was available. Also, I was told, the reason it isn't made publicized to people outside of the school is because schools in the past have tried to send students to some of our clinical sites by using the St. Chris name. I personally think that it would cause an uproar amongst the student body in the other schools if they found out what sites St. Chris has available. Not too healthy for the admin of the "other" schools, don't you think? Third, you can't just call up the offices and start asking for sites because they probably won't know. The Director and Dean of the school only know about them in detail and they actually sit down with you to discuss them. Once again, if you have faith then come to the school and if you are really interested in this school, you can def have the time and money to visit it. I am sure we all visited colleges when we were gettin out of high school so its no big deal. If you are cautious and are very paranoid, then I suggest you don't come here. THis is a medical school and you are coming here to study and work hard. I actually came here without visiting the school and I am pretty happy about it. I also love the fact that I can go to London every weekend, or even travel to any European country for only about 60 pounds a ticket. Also, with the whole University of Luton thing, I don't see a difference with or without using their facilities. The school is more than capable to function on its own. ALso, I actually went to the Univerisity of Luton the other day and they still honor your St. Chris ID card when you need to use their libraries and computer labs. Basically you have access to the whole Univeristy with your ID cards. As for the science labs, St. Chris is making their own labs as they continue to expand in their current building. With the whole enrollment thing, the school actually does cap off the number of acceptances. It was around 60 medical students and then add the rest who are pre-med and transfers so it should be around 80-85 total students in a given semester. The school can easily accept the 300 kids a semester the other schools let in, but then what would be the purpose of that? Anyways, I haven't bashed anyone or anything in my post so hopefully your replies will be the same. Thanks. Once again if you have any questions about the school, please PM me and I will try to get you an answer.

Would you mind putting paragraphs into your posts? Your rambling is one big paragraph and hard to follow. Thanks for the comment on the username, I was considering these 3 schools first. But someone told me about St. Chris so I started to research that. Well, to my surprise St. Chris admin. doesn't like to give anything away.

Hiding clinicals, hiding professor names, hiding residencies, all this is a bunch of junk. Tons of people are just asking some hard facts on St. Chris that they ask other schools. Instead, St. Chris avoids the question and just asks us to "trust" them. Give me a break.

Not to mention, the certain members on this board have never said a bad word about the school. You guys need to download St. Chris seal and change the user status to "School Official." It would be more appropriate.

SC is not NY approved, so the most its students can do is less than 12 weeks. Plus, no NY approval means no formal affiliations with NY hospitals. Students who do NY rotations will have licensure problems in some states due to "non-affiliated" rotations, regardless whether or not they are ACGME approved.

And saying that other schools try to enroll in clinicals using SC's name is just laughable. Too much paperwork is involved in placing a students in clinicals. EVery student we have in our hospital comes with a tone of paperwork, including malpractice coverage declaration. And with the new HIPPA laws going into effect, it's even more paperwork. To think that a school can fake these paperwork to send students under SC's name is a fairytale...

St. Chris Clinicals......DEEEEP BREATH.....

I have been doing my Surgery rotation in Baltimore, MD......I am a St. Chris student....Have not been active on the forum for some time due to limitations on time.......I have been catching up on the forum......WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? It's like WWWIII here?!?.....Picard, it is NOT that far fetched....and in fact....happens with GREAT FREQUENCY....that students from other schools.....most probably not AUC, ROSS, or SGU.......but the many others that are in existence all over the caribbean.....these students call the hospitals directly and try to set rotations up themselves once they find out that we have clinicals at a site. THIS A FACT....they are not "faking paperwork" to make believe they are st. chris students, however, they are getting their school to fax over their info, immunizations, and malpractice insurance so that their students can do rotations at our sites. We OBVIOUSLY want to keep this to a minimum. This explains the need for "secrecy". Our clinical sites are excellent and numerous, with many major university affiliations! In terms of licensure, different sub-types of school/rotation affiliations exist.....to reply to your statement about licensure.....if you make that case with st. chris......it can be made of almost every other school in the caribbean.....Many of the sites are with other students from SMU and Saba. Ask their students if they have seen us in rotations......Our clinical coordinators are really on top of their students in terms of scheduling and constantly working to find new sites. I KNOW we can do rotations in Vegas, CT, MD, IL, NC, GA, NY, LA, MI, and Colorado. As far as I know, all rotations can be done in LA, GA, IL, and 90% in MD (not peds). The other reason I can find for the warranted "secrecy"is that there are envious and jealous administrators who love to read this forum and stir the pot........all i have to say about that is exhibit A.....www.aaimg.com......while i do agree that potential students need as much info as possible.....this can be supplied without spilling all of the beans.......if any potential students have any kind of uneasy feeling about clinical sites.....pm me....I'll answer your questions.....I'll even talk to you over the phone.....also keep in mind that MANY STUDENTS STILL DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS SITE....so just because there aren't too many active participants on an internet site, does not mean we do not exist......some of my St. Chris colleagues, in rotations as well, would love to speak to potential students, they have given me permission to pass on their info......if you need more info.....please contact me........enough with the conspiracy theories! Be well and prosper.......Suzy .......back to the OR.

i also

i also find that wierd that they hide there sites like this.but i believe if the school keeps getting grilled like this then they would have to release it sometime in the future.but im not saying tom.the truth always comes out anyway and when it does i think it would be good for the students and the school itself.

One wonders why this nefarious practice plagues only the St. Chris hospitals. Or do the clinical sites of SGU, Ross, and AUC also suffer the same fate? If so, then how are they able to cope with it while still publishing clinical sites?
