Talked to Admissions St. Chris

I spoke to Roberta Allen in NJ and I'm very excited. I will apply asap for the 6 year program. I think it's an extraordinary opportunity and I don't want to miss it. I hope I will be successful.
Bill.

6 year

Whuds,
I am happy to see your interest in the program. Try to get as much credit as possible, or if possible for your previous schooling. I started in your same shoes (almost exactly) and find the classes to be a good refresher and I am learning a lot. The program is still new and needs a few of kinks ironed out. The prospect for this program, in my opinion, is very good. The class sizes need to be a bit bigger to diversify and keep the interest up. Right now there are 3? classes. One ahead of ours with about 5 people in it, our class of 18 +/- and a new class that just started with about 6 people. The larger class is better since I think we feel more cohesive. Not to speak for the other classes but they are so small they seem to be caught in limbo. The Dean of the 6 year program says that there is a potential for another 30+ class to start in May or September. That will really solidify this program. There is also active recruitment for faculty that will also help add to it's [the program's] long term success.
I would encourage everyone interested this school to do all their homework about the school and come for an onsite visit. This program is a wonderful oppourtunity, especially for people who don't want to start over from scratch and do 4+ years undergrad to take the MCATS only to get wait-listed at a stateside school.
Good luck.
Doug

Thank You

I have become very excited as well as my wife and child, we are already talking about possible future plans in England. I will send out my completed application 3/4/04. Hope to hear something within a couple of weeks after that. Did it take long to hear back from the college after you sent in the package? My LOR's will probaly be sent by the end of next week.
Bill. Hopeful Med student.
