Silence...

is a good weapon...

I noticed that lately, some students from other schools (possibly prospective students) tend to twist things around just to have a shot at St. Chris. They have every right to ask questions regarding the school and what-not, but it also seems that it becomes a mud-slinging match soon as response is given to them.
This is exactly what sets us apart from American schools (and students). They don't bicker or yell the who, the what, the why, the everything about other schools. I believe for this reason alone, they see the immaturity and the "lowness" of an IMG, not all mind you, but through this fora, they can take a peek at the kinds of doctors we all will become.
Please allow me to persuade everybody, from the moderators, students, and incoming students, to keep an armor (armour) of silence and ignore the hidden agenda these people have.
The "my school is better than yours" and "you are not legitimate" will always be thrown our way, but I behoove each one to just keep an open mind and just show enough maturity and education by not getting herded into their level. Don't submit/commit yourselves to this debate. We all know what we want from our school and we all knew what we were getting into when we applied and got accepted. Let us leave it at that. Jealous people will always find reasons, no matter how hard you explain yourselves, to discredit what you say or said. It will just be a cycle.
Again, let us show our school off by means of USMLE passing, and residencies. If in the end most everybody would want to commit to having their names mentioned for their grades and residency acceptance(s), then silence will be deafening.

Thanks,

Rob

US grads do not fear a state's approval or disapproval of them, risking their futures etc....this fear is the basis for why people shout and seem immature on this forum. I do not think their personalities are any different than ours.

but your point is taken ignore the 'trolls'

hmmm

it was truely a touching sppech rob, but your forgetting that this is a forum that should discuss the good with the bad. There is no way you can compare the foreign schools to those in the U.S because the schools in the U.S are respected there and have been there for awhile. While there is always a new foreign school popping ip everyyear.
It just makes me laugh when people are afraid to here the truth, and contradictions by you guys. I remember in some post , somebody asking if its too late to apply for jan and your moderator goes, there caping it at 50 because if they dont then there no different from the big 3 schools that take a couple of hundred students.
Well when i talked to the administrative office they said that there are 85 enrolled for jan, and guess what Mr ***** says " we want to take as many students as possibe, hopefully matching the big 3"..
You guys just always want to sugarcoat everything without letting the other point of view to come up.
This is a discussion forum not your personal webpage like mdparadise ok. So we would like to hear both sides of the story.

The only thing I want to say is this:

There were 120 enrolled this semester, but only 70 of them were for first semester. So if there are 85 enrolled, it is still entirely possible that only 50 are for first semester. However, if what he really did mean is that their are 85 for 1st semester alone, then I see that as a problem. That will be too many students. In a couple years when there is more space and all, that would be great... but it is too soon for that... IMHO.

85 is cumulative

I believe that covers pre-med and medical program as well.

edit: Also, that may be the long term goal, but everyone here realizes that we cannot handle more than what we have per class now. Once the upstairs gets finished and opened, then we have much greater space capabilities. Then again, knowitall seems to know more than we do, so we should all just defer to him. Maybe?

Before I came here...

the admin told me there would be 25 people in the class. There are 75 people in our class-What happened? I really based a large part of my decision to come here on the fact that I thought we would have a small class.

Contrary to what some of the less nice and inviting students on the forum think KnowItAll, I am of the opinion that you should only believe about 20% of what you are told by the admin. And whatever you do, press, continue to press, and press again, until you get to the full, uncompromised truth.

Unfortunately, you can only get what they will give. So everything is a gamble.

Truth.
