    housing

Hi guys, i was wondering if anybody knows of a place that will be available in January....
Im looking for a place thats not expensive, but then again who isnt.
The housing the school is providing sounds too expensive, so if anybody is leaving around jan, id appreciate if you can tell me.

    Actually...

If you do the math, the schools housing only comes out to about 330 pounds a month inclusive of all utilities, which is a stellar deal. If you want a roommate, you can probably find a place around here for around the same price, excluding utilities however. Don't expect to find a single bedroom place for under 400-500 pounds excluding utilities. Furthermore, the single bedroom places seem to be pretty nasty from what I have seen unless you get here 1 month+ from the start of the semester. I recommend that you come and give the student housing a look before you decide on what you want to do because I found moving into student housing, which was ready for me the day I arrived, was difficult enough to get settled without having to find a place and get basic utilities setup.

I actually prefer to live alone, I really hate living with other people, but I am all setup now, so I just deal with it.

If you got pics of student housing could you post them? I just got from Luton and I wasn't able to see any student housing because it was full.

    Re: student housing

I planned on uploading a whole bunch of pictures of St. Chris and the house I live in a whlie ago, but studying has kept me so busy, I haven't had any time and now I am very much under the weather. Once I get feeling better, sometime next week I am going to post all the pics.

    housing

How do we find roomates, is there a place where all students will see?

I guess the housing office will know of people who need roomates. I might be scared to live a lone, but I have not seen the apartments yet so who knows. In college, looking for roomates to replace others all the time was annoying.

Where do you live if you live a lone?

If you sign up for student housing the school gives you same sex roomates automatically. The student housing is not dorms, they are apartments so it is not a bad idea to take the school up on it.

    housing

The student housing is not bad at all. Yes there are places that are a lot nicer to live which are brand new but you will be paying almost 3 times the price for that. I live in student housing now. I preferred to live on my own but when i saw the price of the rent i decided against it for next semester.
By getting a flat through the school saves a lot of things that you may not want to deal with such as an electric or heating bill every month. It is all inclusive in the 2250 dollars that you get charged and I personally think it is a steal.
If anyone has any questions about what it is like feel free to contact me and i will answer your questions through email.

    roomates

Can you request one roomate instead of two or three? Are you paired up randomly or do they try to match you up. I don't think I can live with a really neat person. Can't we all chat and choose that way? Do people switch around after a few weeks, when they meet more people?
