    Cell Phones and Plans

which cell phones and plans are the best and most affordable in England? Also, which ones can we use travelling back and forth from Europe and USA. Basically I need a phone and a plan which I can use both in Europe and in the USA. If you can give me a website address, phone numbers, or emails of these companies, I will appreicate it.

any phone that is TRIBAND will work in the USA and Europe. The network has weird charges for it but that can be figured out. T-Mobile has excellent service both here and in the states. I suggest getting doing either one of two things:

    1. Buy a TRIBAND and service from home on a good plan that you can use here also. Get a US contract because you must have some UK credit before you can get a plan here.

    2. Buy a TRIBAND here on 'pay as you go' service (prepay). The major drawback is that you will have to buy the phone outright and that can be expensive.

    Good luck

    no

no, verizon doesn't service the Uk that I know of. But if your phone is a TRIBAND phone then you could probably get it activated out here. T-Mobile and other services like that have triband services... check with individual carriers

Does anyone know if TRIBAND will also work in Canada?

    Verizon Phones

Hi, I just got off the phone with Verizon because I'm in the same boat. You have a few options:
    1. Cancel your contract pay a $175 termination fee
    2. Suspend service for 4 months at a time. This will cost you $15/month (i.e. $60) and also extends your contract (the 4 months is not deducted out of your remaining contract time)
    3. Suspend service for 6 months at a time, in this case you would change your plan to the lowest plan available and pay your monthly access fee. The months will be decuted from your contract time.
    4. Lend your phone to a friend, younger sib, cousin, etc......
    5. Verizon does have an International traveler plan, in my opinion its not worht it, you can check it out at verizonwireless.com.

My sister did a semester in London and she found that it was most effective to purchase a prepaid phone once in the UK.

    Good luck!

    one more thing

If you cancel your contract, find out if your phone is triband/trimode, if so you can still save some money by connecting it in the UK.

    No

I talked to TMobile and they said your sim card will be replaced so save all your info TO THE PHONE.

    Hope that helps.
