Where and when can I transfer to?

I am planning on attending St. Chris (UK) this August...I was wondering if I was not satisfied with the school, when I could transfer (after the first semester? 2nd? 3rd?) and where I could transfer to.

Would I only be able to transfer to other schools in the UK? Could I transfer to a school in the Carribean?

Also is ther any chance whatsoever, if I do extremely well in my classes, that I could transfer to a school in the US?

Thanks

Remember most of us are students. You will have to call schools to find out and even then you have nothing to show them for them to evaluate. Most students who transfer have to do classes over no matter where they go.

I wouldn't head here with the mindset that you are going to transfer out. There is a significant investment both time and money getting setup at St Chris and going to another place is going to cost even more money and time. Maybe you should check the school out first, if you have so much apprehension.

depends

"Would I only be able to transfer to other schools in the UK?"

St Chirs is not a UK recognized school, it is an african school holdning classes in england, it operates in england as a business not a school so you could not transfer to a UK school. as far as caribbean transfers you have to call, i know AUC does not accept their credits for transfer. i beleive St Matts used to.

whoever said don't go with the mindset of transfering is right. it is an enormous effort to get set up in another country and start school, probably not something you want to get wrong on your first try. its a good investment to fly there for a few days and check it out. SC had its first graduates get licensed so its probably a decnt option....just talk to as many students as you can to get a good feel for any school you are interested in

I agree, Medical school is hard everywhere and if you can't make it at one school you will have trouble at others. Transfers are more plentiful here in offshore medschools than in the states.

I agree with everything said above. Do not go with the midnset that you will just transfer to the US later. Go with teh mindset that you will do everything with St. Chris and if you happen to be able to transfer to a US school, then that is an excellent suprise.

Also, stick with the choice you made and don't be embarassed of whichever school you choose to attend. I attend a school with the word "Caribbean" in it and most people I tell are very cool about it. One DO said "it sure beats the weather here and afterall, Anatomy is the same wherever you learn it"

All private schools in the world, including the U.S., operate as a business. They don't do it altruistically to fill the world with doctors, teachers, engineers, or diesel mechanics. And even State schools operate in an attempt to not lose money, but even have a little left over, just like a business. The business happens to be education. With this being said, I will have to retort with, St. Chris is indeed operating as a school, but not as a UK school.
