Basically, we are at the same level of St. Matthew's University without the the NY approval. Check their website for details. Most clinicals and residencies overlap with Caribbean and U.S. schools. For details on licensure, you need to take the time and effort to contact the medical boards.

We just answered which states we are not eligible for licensure. Review the archives.

Big difference between SMU and SC -- charter issue. So, you cannot simply compare yourselves to SMU. For example, SMU will have problems in NJ whereas NJ laws specifically addresses charter issues SC faces...

Picard do you mean that SMU will NOT face problems in NJ, because in your msg you said they would.

The college has a valid charter. The English campus is an extended campus of the Senegal campus. It operates just like American universities that have have extended campuses and extended programs too.

I am unaware of any NJ law that says this. Maybe you can show us the exact legal passage. I know California does have something like this but the college has no intentions of applying for California.

Currently, students cannot do clinicals in NJ.

Students can do residency and apply for licensure. The licensure board said they will review applicants on a case-by-case basis.

Well, they have been formally disapproved by California.

Also, SMU did have issues in the past in Belize where they did have to relocate to the Grand Caymans.

they have been formally disapproved, yest. but, it also acknowledges that the school will likely be fine in the future. st chris never will.

your school operating outside the country of charter is nothing like the us schools. first of all, the country where the charter comes from has no comparable accreditation standards that i can find. second, i cannot think of any US med school that operates an LCME approved school outside of the US. it just does not happen.

med schools require oversight from an accrediting body. st chris is getting by without oversight. many states will likely have a problem with this.

That doesn't mean they will be fine in the future. They were disapproved.

The college can seek the accreditation that you are talking about but they are doing it slowly. Also only a few states will have a problem with it, not many.
