amount for student loan per term

Concerning student loans....according to the info. I received in my
acceptance package the fees are about $9000.00. How much extra
can you receive on the MedAchiever or the Teri loan for miscellaneous
expenses (food, travel etc....) Can you receive for example 12000.
per term?

Thanks.

KeyBank - MedAchiever Loan

Apply for the maxium amount that StChris will certify. This amount is based on the total cost of education, including living expenses minus any student aid per year. There is no cumulative limit.

It also requires a good credit score, and sometimes requires a cosigner. Start by applying online, you will get a result in a few days.

Thanks for the info. I tried to apply online but it wouldn't let me
get past the page where it requires you to list what state the
school is in. What state should I choose? It didn't give an option
for out of the US locations.

Thanks very much.

I don't know. I always call them. I just say St. Christopher's and they know what I am talking about. I think they have it listed as NJ though.

The school location for KeyBank is NJ. Try again.

Thru MedAchiever its NJ...

I did mine thru Teri since I could not get the loans without a cosignor. (Not enough credit available to substantiate the amount of the loan I was told)

Anyway, I just got approved for $40,000.

Looks like I am going to England...

How is the amount allocated? For example, if you receive a
loan for 20,000, do you receive 10,000 at the beginning of each
semester?

thanks

Regarding KeyBank-MedAchiever, once the loan is approved, St.Chris will certify the loan, they will then take out 2 semesters of tuition, and 1 semester of School Housing if required. The remainder amount is wired, or mailed into your own bank account to spend as needed. According to Keybank, disbursements are generally in September and December depending on need. However, StChris will disburse the entire amount of the loan minus school fees before your entering semester of a given year, and annual semesters thereafter if you wish.

You will also receive confirmation from KeyBank that the money has been disbursed to St.Chris, and there will be a Federal Truth in Lending Disclosure Statement explaining your finance charges/amortization schedule.

I would assume Teri has a similar setup with St.Chris.

loans

Right now tuition stands at $4000.00 per semester for premed, and $6000.00 per semester for basic sciences. School Housing costs are $2000.00 for a small room, and $2250.00 for a large room per semester. Granted prices are sure to go up yearly (Basic Science Tuition $6,500 as of January 2004), but the loan amount is based on a minimum of $500 to a maximum based on the total cost of your education per yer. StChris certifies/determines the maxium amount per year. Right now it is $45,000.00 per year.
