Core rotations in Canada

Is it possible to do Core rotations in Canada? I'm here in Chicago and trying to get some greenbook cores done but it seems like hospitals like Michael Reese are booked up till the end of the year? I know MUA allows core rotations in Canada, and all rotations outside the U.S are greenbook so can it be done? I would like to hear everyone's input on this matter.

A lot of the Canadian students from Saba told me that they did some rotations in Canada. I think some of our students have done rotations there as well . I know of at least two students from my class. You can also do rotations in England too.

As far as I've been told, you have to contact the respective University hospital yourself to setup your cores in Canada. I plan on doing a rotation at UofT.
I think, however, that there's a limitation on how long we can be doing rotations in Canada (similar to NY) - not entirely sure. If you find out any further details, please keep us posted.

careful

Careful, you can do no more than 12 weeks in canada from my understanding of the law. Might want to check that out.

it is all province based

hey ..i researched about rotation in Canada...

all the rotation options are province based...for example, the one i know about is BC...in BC we can do 12 weeks of elective rotations and that too, in the minor hospitals in the lower mainland area or in upper BC's bush country....in our 4th yr of medical school.

for further info go to med.ubc.ca and find it under employment.

i am pretty sure it is same for most other provinces...ontario might be more as there are more med. schools there

and there are no core electives...

all us canadians have to remember that it is much more difficult to get into the canadian medical system...heck, we even got a special exam that is not written by canadian grads.....

And then they complain they need more doctors!!!
