That being said, there are more than a few in my class who dislike the methods of a couple profs. Overall though, I've found the instruction here to be pretty good...and there have been a select one or two instructors in each term that have gained a reputation for being excellent.

2. PD's and attendings are not stupid. they KNOW you couldn't get into the states. they are being nice. i get the EXACT same statements from attendings, cause i don't attend school in the carib. does it mean squat? NO! another example of folks trying to emphasize something meaningless, or to give something some pertinence when it does not exist in order to justify something to themselves or to attract students if you are a potential student at st chris, don't fall for this. going to a well know school is infinitely better than st chris, even if st chris happens to be physically located in england. despite what some people think, PD's are not stupid, and you are NOT going to have an easier time matching simply because you did not study in the carib. in fact, you will likely have a harder time, for these reasons: 1) you will NOT be able to work in certain states 2) st chris has a short history, and no established alum and not many programs that have even heard of the school please stop feeding these potential students such crap. if you really believe that these attendings and PD's are truly happy that you went to a senegal school in england and not just being freindly and making coversation, i suggest you start paying better attention to reality. unbelievable. btw, if you are even remotely comparing the quality of SGU with st chris, you are even more nuts than i thought.... |

additionally, it is misleading to simply say "i study in england"...and, believe me, it will eventually catch up with you if you play that game. finally, i think it is hilarious that this is even coming up. i am well aware that many students choose st chris simply because it is in england, and perhaps they believe that this will lead others to believe that they went to a legit school, simply because that is where the campus is located. fine, if you want to convince yourself of that, it is great. but, i have issues when somebody is considering a transfer to your school, and students try to mislead them into thinking that the physical location of the school implies some advantage over the clearly better established schools that are miles ahead of st chris. clear now? |
