Transfer Students - updated admission policy
ADVANCED STANDING APPLICANTS
St. Christopher’s College of Medicine only accepts transfer students from medical schools recognized by the World Health Organization. Transfer students undergo the same admissions process as first-time applicants, in that they must submit a complete application packet to ensure a timely review. Acceptance of transfer credits is at the discretion of the University. Applications from prospective students for transfer/advanced standing are evaluated on a case by case basis, by the Admissions Committee and are contingent upon the following conditions: 1. Applicant must be transferring from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools published by the World Health Organization. 2. Applicants must be in good academic standing. 3. Transfers are subject to availability of seating space. 4. Transfer credits are granted for successfully passed coursework only. 5. Transfer students must meet all documentation requirements of a newly admitted student. 6. Official and up to date transcripts from the medical school attended must be provided. 7. Students wishing to transfer directly to the Clinical Rotation program must have successfully completed the USMLE Step I and provide evidence of such. Those who have undertaken prior studies in the health sciences - podiatrists, dentists, physician assistants, nursing, etc. are not eligible for advanced standing. However, these students may use completed coursework to qualify for admission. Health professionals who wish to upgrade their skills and earn an MD degree should start with the Basic Science program.
