Which class starts at what time changes each semester depending on scheduling needs but a typical schedule is:

M, T, Th, F - 8:00am till 2:00pm

W - 8:00am - 5:30pm (including Guys and Kings dissection)

Each class is 2 hours long except dissection is 4 or 5 hours.

Exams are on every 4th monday. It is called black monday, all exams are given on the same day. Finals are given on separate days throughout the last week.

disection

What did you mean by on wed was guys and kings disection. And i know in schools like ross you get all your exams as one exam just different sections for each like you have a 3 hour exam consisting of 85 or so questions and all the subjects you are taking for the semester is this how it works at st chris or do you have diff exams through out that day for each class

For 1st semester, anatomy dissection is done in london at Guys and King's College. This university is a very prestigous medical school that has been around for many many years. On wednesday, you have general lecture in the morning, but after that everyone jumps on the train and goes to london for dissection. You spend around 4 hours or 5 hours with the proff's there.

No, our testing a little different. We have 3 exams and 1 final in every class. On exam day, there is seperate exams for every class consisting of 50 questions EACH. The finals are on seperate days for each exam and those consist of 100 questions EACH.

We implement "Black Monday" exams.

This means after 3 weeks of lectures, on the Monday of a 4th week, you'll have your tests. If you're taking 4 classes, you'll have 4 test on that Monday. Like bts said, finals are held on separate days instead.

exams and schedule

I am trying to grasp what it will be like:

So exams are on every 4th monday...is it one or two exams on that same day? Do you have anatomy practicals where you tag a part of the cadaver and the students must identify it or is it tested another way?
Do you do dissections on computer since students cannot touch the body? During FINALS WEEK, how many exams are there in that week?

THANKS for the help.

Students are allowed to touch the bodies, we just don't cut them. Feeling the specimens is a large part of anatomy lab.

On "Black monday" you have ALL of your exams. So, in 1st semester you would take your anatomy, cell bio/histo, embryo, and ethics exams all on the same day... then during finals you would have a different exam on each day throughout the week.

Anatomy has a practical exam at the end of the term I believe (implemented recently), however all of the rest of the rest of the exams are written exams. The practical would count for 10% of your grade and you 4 other written tests would count for the rest.

Oh, Just so you know... all finals are cumulative.

Four exams in one day?? That is like 8 hours of exams. How do you prepare for that?

"Black Monday" is a hard day and it usually takes a little while to get used to it. However, the USMLE is a 6-8 hour exam also. If you get used to "Black Monday", sitting there for the USMLE will be no big deal and you won't have to be concerned with fatigue and loosing your concentration. It will feel like any other test day.
