Department for Education list

SCIMD (the new version of st chris) was removed from the list of registered education provider schools to study in the UK DfES Register of providers

by the DEIS (Department of Ed)....what does this mean for SCIMD? My guess is that if you aren't on that list, you'll have trouble getting a student visa but I am not sure. Anyone know what is real?

Additional Info 12-25-06: Note that it is claimed that SCIMD lost its DEFS status at this post here at Wikipedia Talk:St Christopher Iba Mar Diop College of Medicine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

However, the school does show up on DEFS lists as being approved. Students state here that nothing has happened. An inquiry has been made and results of the inquiry will be posted here after the holiday.

Really?

Who told you it was removed, I just found it.

Anyway, there is a coomet that answers your question...."From 1 January 2005, the Home Office will not grant leave to enter or remain in the UK as a student, or leave to study to an overseas student national wishing to attend a course of study at a provider not on the Register."

It's there

I did hit refresh. You have to look it up as just 'christopher' and not 'st. christopher'.

To find it go here and put in 'christopher' as the provider:

DfES Register of providers

See the instructions listed on their locked visa thread here. You look them up on the DFES register the same way you have for years. This thread was created in Aug. of 2003 and is still tacked at the top of the forum here. I'm not sure what caused all the confusion about the St. Chris DFES listing but we need to stop. It's there and there are no problems with it.

http://www.valuemd.com/st-christophe...ense-info.html

List of Approved Schools in UK
DfES Register of providers

To find St. Chris type in " Christopher " in the search only this will give you our listing.

If you have any further questions, please call the British Consulate.
