Ok....
Well...Im new to this website, but I just wanted to share with everyone that I got my resident permit (student visa) renewed. I'm a SCIMD student, and I needed extra time on my visa to finish my studies....and there seemed to be no problems.I waited 6 weeks to get my passport back, and I got my visa renewed/extended...

Received today from the English govt. Indeed I was wrong
This is exactly what I received by email today:
can confirm that St Christopher Iba Mar Diop College of Medicine is included on the DfES Register of Education and Training Providers The Register of Education and Training Providers (usually called the Register) is a list of colleges including universities and private education providers in the UK. The purpose of the Register is to help the Home Office tackle immigration abuse in the education sector. The Home Office will not grant anyone leave to enter or remain in the UK as a student, or leave to study to an overseas student national, unless he or she is intending to study at a college on the Register. However, just because a college is on the Register this DOES NOT MEAN THAT THERE IS ANY GUARANTEE of the quality of education available at that college. THERE IS NO AUTOMATIC QUALITY ASSURANCE OR ACCREDITATION OF COLLEGES ON THE REGISTER. Kind Regards DfES Registration Team

i didn't see an appology in there anywhere or admission of being wrong.... hmmm... stubborn i see...
just to add to your post... i don't think anyone claimed that the DfES was an indication of quality assurance... the statement you posted is plastered all over their website.. and hand book... so this is obvious information to almost everyone... it simply showed that the school made the requirements as an educational institution to supply visas... thats it... DfES was simply the first step in getting reviewed again by the GMC. There are a few more steps that were recommended by the GMC for SCIMD to have before approaching them again for re-evaluation. As several people know.. the UK system is particularly slow with processing things. These other steps requested by the GMC have already been at least started.. some almost completed... there is lots of processing time involved.. but i'm confident that this upcoming semester will yield alot of positive things for the school... |
