If a school is not on the approved list of schools by New York Board of Education to do more than 12 weeks in NY state you are not eligible for residency in NY State. You can get licensure after completing residency in another state however.

Caribbean schools approved are AUC, Saba, Ross, SMU, MUA, AUA, SGU

NY approval is for the purpose of clinical clerkship.Spartan can do residency and eligible for full unrestriced license in NY.I base my info on following NY medical board minutes that have interviewed in detail MANY Spartan grads regarding unrelated med education issues and they granted licenses, also from the hospitals in NY websites lists residents and faculty tons of grads from Spartan who did residencies and practicing in NY.

Below just one example:
…………………, M.D.

avoid this school,
instead try SJSM,Windsor, Xusom[they even have loans], if you have bad GPA, because they will take you.

If you have good GPA and MCAT[not all schools insist] try MUA,AUA,St.Statia etc.

If you are topper, try the Saba,AUC,SG,Ross.

Stay away from Spartan it was a good school many years ago, now it is the last place for desperadoes. This is the last people will go before say CMU[another rotten apple].
GLuck!

there are many people doing residency in NJ now, look at sommerset family residency and that is just 1 example.

I will give you more if you want, but all you needs is 1 to prove the rumor is wrong
