School Schedule

Hello. I was considering coming to Spartan this fall but took a look at the curriculum and had some questions. I noticed that the classes taught each semester seemed more than other medical schools and was wondering the actual schedule Spartan students followed during the week. The acceptance package I received listed the classes and the number of credit hours applicable for each but I did not get a clear view of the real class load. Help. Please. Gracias!

don't forget you're are finishing med school in 3calendar years at Spartan and only 16 months on the Island. The majority of your studies will be on your own if you plan to pass step I and get better placement for your clinical rotations.

yes 8-4 and somtimes 8-5

You will work your butt off in the courses and almost have no spare time if you want to pass or do well on your USMLE. Just be prepared to work your butt off....don't worry about which courses.....you pretty much have to study like crazy anywhere to do well on step1. You can also slack off here at Spartan, but its not recommended to just pass by all the courses.
It is up to you.

Actuall you can do in 2 years, how ? take year 1 & 2 together and year 3&4 together, so save yourself 2 years
what does he mean by this & how is this possible? I have heard from several people that FMS offer 3year programs; however, they are really 4 years. What's the truth?

You can come to Spartan and be off of the island after 16 months. Then you can do your clinicals which is about 1 1/2 years.

The schedule is intense, you are in class from 8-4. You are pretty much alway going to have your face in a book if you want to make the best of your time here. One note on the text books. Buy them all. Some don't, but in my opinion it is best to have them for not other reason than to help you prepar for step 1. Also if you can get your hands the Kaplan books it would be great. Also Get First Aid. Good Luck.
