The loan takes a weeks max to be processesd. The visa you can apply and get it at the point of entry to St Lucia's airport. There is nothing to worry about.

However, as I undrestand Spartan lost Teri loan and there is no other loan available in US unless you are a Canadian citizen. If so, you may have an option of getting student LOC from banks in Canada.

Good luck!

You can get a letter of admission/confirmation of registration and take it to the Canadian Bank (Royal Bank or Bank of Montreal) and apply for a Loc. If you have a descent credit you get approved easily. In addition, you may be eligible for Canada Student Loan or Teri. Spartan recently lost Teri but I am sure some sort of financial aid will emerge in few months.

Spartan is not any different from other off-shore MD schools. At least it has a 25 year history. I have many freinds and few cousins that are Spartan graduates and are now sucessful practising physicians. One of my cousin, a Spartan graduate has a very high position in a very well known hospital in the country. Once you start looking around you'll see many sucessful Spartan graduates all over the place.

God luck!
