share your UK rotations experience

Clinicals thread is not very active so I thought I better post it here too. Anyone been in the UK hospitals for cores are requested to share their experiences.

Any info on clinicals in England?

Does anyone have any insight on core rotations in England and how they compare/differ from cores in the states?

According to Dr. T rotations in England gives you more hands on experience ,basically you learn more over there. All good teaching hospitals all three of them so as long as one does electives in the U.S. it should be fine. I would also appreciate input from more people.

I'm heading out to Barnsley in a couple of weeks and was just wondering what I should bring along in terms of equipment?

I just spoke to one of my friends that is at barnsley. she said to bring a thick coat, pens (she complained that the selection there is limited), and your stethoscope. Thats all she thought about right now. I'll add more if she remembers more.

Remember that its a small town with small town values. So bring anything you think you would need. Its a nice but small hospital

Does anyone know when and where orientation is. I assume it is this upcoming Wednesday at Barnsley General hospital but I haven't exactly been told the specifics.

Thanks!
