I want to do my rotations in NC, i dont mind setting them up. But i have NO idea how to begin. How do you go about finding places that will let IMGs rotate? Any and all advice would be greatly apprechiated!
thanks

The first step would be to find conections you have with doctors and hospital administrators and go thru the "insider channel" so to speak....
If you dont have the above.... you can call the clinical coordinator of the hospital you wish to rotate at and set up a face to face meeting regarding settin up rotations.
You may or rmay not get to that point...
I will eventually work to set up more Core spots for SMU in New York City....
in Manhattan hopefully.... utilizing my connections first.....
Anyone else with more experience can add their 2 cents....
It's extremely difficult even with superb connections. I've found "close family friends" that would be "happy to help" will not return phone calls or emails when it comes time for them to put their money where their mouth is.

510 points I thought the school had this policy where if you can set up your own rotations, then the only way the school will let you do that is if you can set it up for the rest of the school.
510 points That policy is for core rotations. Electives you are on your own.

i'm doing my internal medicine residency in NC, but our program only allows LCME schools and DO students to rotate through it.

510 points See if you can rub some elbows and get the policy changed.
