Not allowed to do electives in Pennsylvania?

I looked all over trying to find in writing where it states that no IMG/FMG can do any rotations in PA, and couldn't find it. Does anyone know where they can find it?

By the way I also spoke to the board and they said you no longer need green electives...i spoke to two people and they both said they no longer look at rotations, just that you have completed an acgme approved residency. who knows though, if they want an excuse to not license you they can use anything

i thought i posted something a while back, but couldn't find it.

however i did find THIS on the UPenn and Penn State websites

Visiting Medical Students - Penn State MD Program

UPENN SOM Global Health Programs - Medical Students | International

so it seems that there could be a loophole to this, but good luck actually getting one of these schools to agree to an affliation (or it could be that these schools had an agreement prior to the law being enacted and they were grandfathered in)

From the first link
Quote:
In accordance with the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine, Penn State College of Medicine no longer accepts foreign medical students for any kind of clinical rotation.
The second list actually mentions the list of schools allowed to do rotations, and unfortunalty none of the caribbean schools qualify.

So it seems there isn't a loophole there anymore.

In the "green book", it basically spells it out that it's a big no-no. Oh well, it was a good program and they were going to take me for a competitive elective. At least they'll know me when they get my ERAS app in a few months.
