12 weeks in NYS

Is it true that we can only do 12 weeks maximum of rotations in NY at hospitals that the school is not affiliated with?
I thought it was only for cores, but does it apply for electives?
I try to do my electives at Maimonides, Beth Israel, but will I only be limited to 12 weeks?
Once again, it's ELECTIVES that Im talking about, not CORES

Thanks

please someone respond who knows about it, and not just "heard"

Yes its true for electives. Some states/ hospitals only allow 8 weeks.

By the way, you can only do you cores at "affiliated" hospitals. That goes for all of your cores.

Caribbean Friendly Elective Rotations

Please list any electives/institutions that you have applied to and received placement easily as a Carib student.

Its actually pretty easy. Get in touch with Jenneth Persaud (Medical education) and she will help you.

SMU students only pay $75 application fee (it doesnt say that on the website but that is the reality) - therefore this is probably one of the cheapest out of pocket hospital and yet one of the best experiences!
