Only problem is hours: 6:40am for morning lectures and you are lucky to get out before 4pm.
very nice man! its only 2 weeks...you can make it.

I survived Maimonides. Was a great experience. Am now doing a research elective in Boston. I like the hospital and the people are very nice. Teaching is awesome. Tons of work to do...

Just a heads up, at LIJH they do not charge for electives (at least that is what the Path dept told me)...Easy on my budget.

For anyone looking for a "light" rotation, path at LIJH fits the bill. Teaching here is great, make sure you follow Dr. E, the peds pathologist, he loves to teach. The residents are very laid back and I reviewed a lot of anatomy during the autopsies (both adult and fetal).

Neuro in Maimonides is a 9-5 rotation. Tons of work to do, with some teaching thrown in. So far it has been good. It is a consult service (so we mostly do consults) and am rotating with 2 SUNY Downstate students. Sometimes you can be let out late. This past Wednesday we were let out at 8pm. Stroke rounds are decent.

I was just approved for neuro in Maimonides, would you recommend this rotation? I havn't seen any other comments about it, which is probably a good thing. and when you say "tons of work" what do you mean? thanks

I would recommend it if you don't mind working 9-5, and possibly later. I learned a lot during the rotation but barely had time to prepare for Step 2. If that is not an issue, then definitely it is worth it.
