Yes, I shopped there somewhat frequently.

I owned a vehicle for much of the time I was there, but when I didn't I would get there by taking a "reggae bus" to St. George's. The bus you would want used to be mostly red, but can be any color nowadays, usually a
toyota hiace van/bus. It will have a #1 on the windshield which designates its route (approx maurice bishop hwy to st. george's). I think the price has gone up, but it should be 2-3 EC each way...more on Sundays (& maybe sat. also). From the bus terminal, you are about a 2 minute walk from the market.
The market: Saturday mornings are the busiest as far as vendors and patrons. If you're buying touristy items, you may be able to haggle a little, especially in the non-tourist season or when there are no cruise ships in. If you're buying fruit and veggies, I don't think I ever successfully haggled. However, prices may vary depending on vendor. Items available may be somewhat less than some may expect. I guess I can think more of what you won't find or if you do, will be too expensive to bother at this market...such items include: strawberries, apples (available but pretty expensive), peaches...crap, that's all I can think of right now...I guess it includes anything that usually grows in a more cold/temperate climate. You will find lots of lemons and limes, lots of root-type veggies such as cassava and potato and others, lots of leafy greens. Also, carrots, corn, some tomato (often not too great looking), beans (pigeon peas), herbs (lots of basil and cilantro if I remember correctly), bell peppers.
Grenadians are generally quite friendly at the market...you will be hassled A LOT to look at touristy type stuff (any spice derivative and jewelry type stuff). Try your best to look like you're on a mission/know what you're looking for and they'll bother you less.
Items at the vendors market are generally cheaper than a supermarket, such as IGA, but not always.
