First term housing with dog

I am coming to the island in early jan 08 and anted to know if anyone has suggestions on places to live with my St. Bernard? I want to be as close to campus as possible. I will consider places in all price ranges as long as they are safe and clean (even those that are pretty expensive). Thanks

If you contact the housing office here in Grenada they have a list of "approved" rentals which you can contact. The main # for sgu in Grenada is 473-444-4175 and that secretary should be able to direct you to the housing offices/secretary. I assume they can email or fax something to you.

Alternatively, many use a realtor...I never have but I know several who have and were happy with the results. Some are linked as follows and are used to working with SGU students and will know which are on the bus route and which may be best if you own a vehicle.

Terra Caribbean: look for the rentals section or call them.

Island Reality

Realty World

There are a few others but these are the only businesses I have heard of which will cater to students.

oh...I may be biased, but with a dog I might recommend living in Lance Aux Epines (LAE) which is served by a SGU bus but is a little further from SGU main campus (maybe 10 minutes from True Blue).

LAE is kinda nice because there isn't a whole lot of traffic...generally.

I got dorm housing in Grand Anse with my pup. I heard it was approx. 15 mins by bus? Is it within walking distance to the mall? Restaurants?

Right across the street from spiceland mall, which contains many stores, but mainly IGA for groceries and a hardware store, 'Do it best.'

Quite a few restaurants also. At least 1 per resort on Grand Anse beach, several in spiceland mall (food court type), and several in the roundhouses (aka le marquis) which are kind of close to spiceland.

Yes, 15 minutes to true blue campus by bus...or less.

Hasn't been much action on this site, but I thought I would check and see how things have gone with pets in student Grand Anse housing. I am almost done with term 1 medicine in the UK and will be heading to Grenada in January of '09, hopefully with my then to be 3yo Golden. Any input is appreciated!

Grand Anse is full of students and a "cafeteria", etc. Still being used and not likely to stop being used at least in the next year if not longer.
