How successful is appealing the preliminary clinical rotation? I got one that is not even on my choices, and requires traveling between rotations - San Joaquin, CA.
Thanks

510 points I think it's always worth a shot. Several of my friends have been granted their appeals- some appealed because of family issues while others appealed just because they wanted to be elsewhere. It will depend on the site you want to be switched to and the status of other students placed there, but if you absolutely don't want to be where you are, I say appeal. You won't find out if your appeal is granted until after your step 1 scores are in but I think they'll definitely accommodate you if they can.
48 points Speaking of having to move around. Is temporary housing(6-12 weeks) usually pretty easy to come by? Seems most landlords would want 6 months to a year lease signed.
521 points temp housing is probably best if you look on craiglist for sub-lets or roommate type of arrangements
studentdoctor.net also has a housing section that's pretty active so you might want to take a look there as well.
