Houston Step 2 CS

I'm scheduled for my Step 2 CS on August 21st in Houston, TX. Was wondering what recommendations people can give about hotel to stay at when doing their CS over there.

there are loads of hotels around there, its near the airport, you will need to rent a car, i stayed at the double tree, a little expensive, but i shared the cost with someone else.

that Days Inn is about 500ft from the testing center. Because of Houston's not so great public transportation, i would suggest staying there unless you plan to get a rental car.

Edit: sorry Days Hotel is the one next to the testing center.

ok, the Days Inn listed by the USMLE website is different from the one i was referring to. The Days Inn on the USMLE website is indeed 2.3 miles located at:
Days Inn Intercontinental Airport/Greenspoint ($)
12500 North Freeway (2.3 miles from the center)

the one i am referring to is called Days Hotel (same brand as Days Inn) located at
Days Hotel Houston
500 N. Sam Houston Parkway
Houston, TX 77060

so its right next to the Test Center.

For the Days Inn, I mean 2.3 miles is pretty close. Metro Bus 56 (pdf schedule) will take you from Days Inn at 12500 North freeway to the Testing center in 5 mins.

Here is a google map link. The green arrow is the testing center, "A" is the Days Hotel and "B" is the Days Inn.

days inn loc: 400 North Sam Houston Parkway, Suite 700 Houston, TX 77060 USA - Google Maps

Let me add, the stops mentioned on the bus schedule are not the only stops on that route. There are many smaller stops that the bus will make so please make sure that a day before you do a test run to find out exactly where the stop is closest to the testing center.

Unfortunately i live 45 mins away from the airport so i can't stop by and check it out. If i do go towards the airport in the nest few days, i'll make sure to check out the stops and post the info here.

ALso I believe there is a Comfort Inn next to the Days Inn, in case Days Inn is booked. But confirm online through their website first.

If you have other questions let me know.
