are we required to do all our cores in green book hospitals? do elective rotations have to be in teaching hospitals also?
what about if our states of choice require neither cores or electives to be green book?

Green book clinicals...depends on the state you want to get licensed in. Personally, I don't have immediate plans to practice in CA. However, I don't want to limit myself. I figure if I meet the more stringent licensure requirements for a state like CA, then I will be more likely to get licensure in any state.
Pat Parks is a great resource at the Medical Board of California. I have spoken to her several times over the last 3 years about licensure/clinical rotations issues. My thoughts are to get ALL U.S. clinical rotations and all green book at that. Are you curious about whether a certain hospital's rotations are "Green Book"? Make a list of a few and give a call to find out. I was able to verify that there are several sites that I could do elective rotations at in AZ.
This should be obvious, but please be professional when calling for such information. Make a list of well thought-out questions prior to calling and try not to take up too much time. It looks bad for Saba or IMGs in general when you aren't prepared or sound demanding.
