I want to continue my study, please help me out.

Dear Friends,

Can anybody advice me how can I continue my study when my age is 26 and I only completed SSC. ( O level). After completed my SSC I had a accident and I was unable to continue my study. I am technical hand guy. I am expert on Computer hardware. I am in deep love with a girl also. But her parents disagree because of my education. Though I have a designation called Engineer with me and I am working with a multi national company but still I am not satisfied with my education. Sometimes I really feel that I need to upgrade my education but I cant. Because first of all I dont want to study traditional way. I like to study something like my profession. I mean Computer Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering. The main problem is that I am not that rich alos. Financially I have to support my family also. But still I feel I could continue my study. But the main problem is that there is no such education over here in Bangladesh that I can study Evening, because I have to work in morning time and study evening. I am really in mental presure. And sometimes I think that I should not have been born. I want to sucide for this. Thanks for reading my problems. if you have any idea to give...please advice me.. Bye... Best of luck you guys. AHMED

Hey dude, I am not sure why you chose to post here on ValudMD -- sounds like you are interested in computer/telecommunication engineering and not medicine. Since I am not from Bangladesh nor am I familiar with the way of life there...I can't suggest any alternative to you. But I will tell you this though...suicide is not the way out. It looks like you're caught between ideals (live up to the expectation of your girlfriend's family) and physical limitations (don't have the money nor the time to further your education). The most sensible thing for you to do right now is to continue with your life -- working and supporting your family..etc. You can further your education when you have less family obligation (you're only 26, hopefully the school you're interested in going won't discriminate against your age when you're ready to do so)...in the meantime, keep working on the relationship with your girlfriend's family, if you love the girl so much....

I wish you the best of luck.

yeah, suicide is definitely NOT the solution to your problems. just work on your relationships and problems slowly, continue to make progress, and in time, things will get better. good luck, and stay safe.

Response.

Salutations "dreamfulmachine":

Life is tough buddy, but we have to learn to deal with it. We have to persevere through it as long as we can for those we love. I'm sure you love your family as well as your girlfriend, so do not attempt to do anything that would break their hearts. If possible, speak with someone about your problems and perhaps they will be able to help you out. I hope all goes well for you and you resolve your issues. Good luck and remember to never lose hope. Ciao.

shouldn't but does

yes, at 26 one certainly can chart a course to take him/her to any heights whatsoever, but probably this guy is asian and was indoctrinated by his parents to believe that if he wasn't a doctor or engineer or something similarly successful and socially admired by age 26, then he's a complete loser.

which is not true. you're only a loser if you accept and live by other close-minded people's idea of life.
