Housing

For those of you that are on the island, how did you go about finding housing? My husband and I will be moving to the island in Jan. and I've been trying to email the housing coordinator to figure out what we need to do to find an apartment, but so far, I haven't got a response back. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Re: housing

Here is how housing works...
Landlords who have apartments or houses notify Alida Heilbron who works for the school when they have something to rent. Because students function in semesters, landlords and thus Alida will probably not have a complete housing list until very late November or early December. I know that sounds like short notice, but that is how it is. You will find a place, don't worry. I remember my wife and I freaking out about having such short notice. Keep trying to contact Alida (I recommend spending a few bucks and calling her) to verify this is still how it works, and when she will have a list of houses. I have personally helped students find housing after they arrived on the island. Not so much fun that way, but it can be done. Good luck. Have fun down there. Make sure you get to St Barts at least once.
Mike
