    2.5 GPA crazy?!

When people in here suggest "as long as you have the 2.5 GPA," is that out of 4? If so, I'm surprised...but it's good news all the same! From early years in school before I started my present career, I had a 2.5 of 4 GPA, but my transcript is UGLY! There are dropped courses, failed courses, low marks...oh but one A that I'm quite proud of!! My intentions were to return to university and complete another degree before applying to SABA, but are people telling me I could get in on what I already have? Can't be!

    Call them!

Call them and talk to one of the admissions people.

NO ONE here can give you any real idea how this might work for you, despite the many comments ofetn made. The best source for Saba info is Saba itself.

But AFTER you call them, you should tell us all what they said, and if they encouraged you to apply, what other factors about your candidacy did they find positive.

You guys must think Caribbean schools are Yale and Harvard , man all they want is your money anyway. My friend is a doctor in St louis Mo, went to Saba with a 2.4 so dont believe all that gpa crap you hear. Just apply early.

    Response.

    Salutations:

That may be so, but that was several years ago. Saba has started to increase its admission standards now since more applicants are applying. They are now able to pick and choose which applicants they want to accept. So work hard everyone and don't take anything for granted. As for those of you with low GPAs, sure, there's still hope. There's always hope as long as you didn't get rejected. But give it a shot since you'll never know till you try. Good luck. Ciao.

Man just apply with your 2.5 gpa, all you have to lose is 50$. The best way to supplement a lower gpa is by a) having awsome volunteer experience b) awsome LOR's c) good explanation for lower gpa d) good ec's e) really make them believe you can get through their curriculm and be a good doctor. People have different reasons for having lower gpa's, whether they never cared as much etc, all you can do is apply and see what happens.

For the guy with the 3.1 gpa what are you worried about man your in. As long as you have a way of paying, you can always get into the Caribbean. Yea more people are applying so what? Its still the caribbean, its a last resort, but that being said saba is pretty awsome so good luck to u guys!

I will advice you never to waste your time and money completing another bachelors or masters degree if all you want is an M.D. Apply and see what they say. The worst can be to take some classes to raise your gpa or total rejection. you have nothing to lose. Just my own opinion.

I applied with a 3.2, didn't get in, so SABA must be raising it's standards if GPA is all that counted. For all of you who suggested CHAPS and miama contact the school, bravo, for all trying to be a fortune teller, go back to school and get a real job! For everyone thinking of going, take the plunge, apply and find out. Get'r done!

Every applicant is different. Not applying at all is worst that getting rejected. If his dream is to be an M.D. there might be schools around there that might take him/her. Telling him to give up his dream for bad grades is totally wrong.
