please help i am freaking out!!!
i know you guys tend to ignore the "what are my chances" threads but i really would use some imput here.
I have applied to Saba yeasterday for the May 2007. I am very curious/nervous to see what if i will be accepted or not. So here is my situation: US citizen B.A in art history 3.26 overall GPA and 3.15 sci I haven't taken any upper level sci classes, but all my pre-reqs. Also a lot of psychology/social sci classes taken. I had a bad semester when i got a D in gen chem but i have retaken it and gotten an A. I also gotten an A in orgoII last semester. My MCAT score is however on the low side (26P--> 9V/8P/9B). I have decent ECs: a year of hospital volunteering, many volunteer projects and shadowing doctor.Good LORs from profs who know me well. Do i stand a chance at Saba? Last edited by gala; 02-03-2007 at 12:44 AM. |

I think that you definately have a chance. Your mcat is better than alot of peoples although as you know your GPA is on the low side. I do not think you are a "shoe in" but you do have a chance. I think alot of it will come down to your personal statement and LOR's.
Somehow you need to prove to them that whatever caused your low GPA has been fixed. But that is just my opinion. Good Luck |

There is danger in assuming that a CURRENT applicant's stats make them an automatic acceptance to Saba. I'm in 3rd sem now and I know that it is much more competitive now than when I applied. How competitive? I don't know. Like it was stated above, I would look at the threads of the most recently accepted students. I wouldn't rely on opinions of upper semester students (for this issue)...unless they sit on the admissions board and know something I don't.
Application and acceptance has changed a lot recently from what I've heard. That is all I know. |

Need some help
Hey,
I'm fairly new to this site. I am a sophmore at Florida State University, and want to apply to a couple overseas Medical Schools. What should I be aware of, keep in mind, and use to help me make my decision. I am going to be accompanied by my cousin. He is also a sophmore at Universty West Gerorgia. I am majoring in molecular bio. and he is buisness major. What should we do for the process? |
