I received my B.S. 2011. I worked at a medical clinic throughout my undergrad and volunteered quite a bit. I also had very poor study habits. This resulted in an average of 64% (I believe that works out to about a 2.3 gpa?)
I did some traveling after graduation and realized that I had no direction in my life, so when I got home I revamped my work ethic and took the mcat, getting a 30M. I also took an additional physics course, getting an A and a glowing letter of recommendation from the professor, who is also the head of the physics department for the university.
I have countless hours of clinical experience logged over the past years from my job at a family practice clinic. I also have much volunteer experience through coaching little league baseball teams and work at a local food bank.
I am applying to SGU, Ross, Saba, Medical University of the Americas (Nevis), St. Matthews (Cayman), American University of Antigua (Antigua), and St James (Bonaire). So I pose the begging question, what do you think my chances are? Also, is there any possibility for me to do an extra year before starting my Basic sciences training, or do I have to indicate on my application that I would like to be admitted into the premed program.
Thank you in advance, and for all the advice you have already given me!
