    Picking the right School

I have got accepted to Saba for Jan 2006 and American University of Antigua for September of this year. I would like to know with both schools which is best suited for the long run. Meaning are both schools recognized in all 50 US states. Which school is in standing when I want to gain residency in US? I am really confused, so I need some insights guys please.

    ...

What ever you do, dont go to AUA. Wait till Jan. and go to Saba. Saba grads are able to practice in all 50 state. They have a decent record of getting good residency spots here in the state. I cannot tell you enough only go to Saba. Good luck!!!

No offense to AUA but it is kinda shady. I spoke to the Admissions folks on a few occassions just to see what kind of a deal it has with Manipal .. and the interactions were not too good. I asked a guy what he meant by 6 year MBBS/MD program, and he said, after 6 years you get an MD and an MBBS.. not come on.. all of us know that is not the case. I called the very next day and spoke to someone different, and that person told me that the MBBS was offered by Manipal but the Clinical rotations are offered in US .. I mean.. there is no conistency here. Please.. do not go to AUA....
This school does not have a good reputation around the medical circles (the circle I know) and as far I heard last, it does not qualify for Calif and NY residencies and licensure.

    Response.

    Salutations "pradeep316":

Based on many people's opinion (including my own), I would suggest Saba over AUA. One of the reasons is that Saba has a well established reputation at getting its graduates good residencies in the U.S. In addition, the California Medical Board has approved Saba's graduates for licensure there. This is a great accomplishment because only 3 other Caribbean schools have been able to achieve this and they have been around a long time (AUC, Ross, SGU).

From what I hear from current students, the school is on the right track and is going to be operating for many many years to come. Good luck on your decision. Ciao.
