How many scrubs do I need? ( I was planning on bringing 3 pairs)
How many blades and what type (please specify the number)?
Gloves, I was planning on bringing latex as they are cheaper than the blue ones. How many boxes of gloves should I bring with me? (How important is it to bring blue ones rather than latex gloves?)
I am not bringing a dissection kit because from past posts it seems that there are many left over from past semesters.
Please let me know if it is worth bringing these things with me or should I purchase these things from the island. Thanks.

3 Pair scrubs will be fine. I have 6 pair but I usually wear one pair a week and only use more if I get nasty, like spill formaldehyde or something.
But a scrub color change weekly is nice.
#23 Blades work with the scalpel handles here.
The thicker blue nitrile gloves keep out the smell of formaldehyde better than the thin latex gloves, as the smell leeches through and clings to your hands. On the other hand, by the time you are done with the first block you don't notice the smell as much. It's up to you what you want. I split the difference and bought two boxes of each, way more than enough.
You don't need a dissection kit, just gloves and blades.
Also, don't buy a grants dissector, there are tons for free here in the library every semester. Let the non-valuemd'ers buy those. If you buy one, keep your receipt and maybe you can return it if you don't use it. My lab group has looked at the dissector maybe once per block, anyway, so it's nice but not critical.
