Thread: how long should the personal statement be?

how long should we plan our essay be: 300, 500 words or simply one page, etc.

i don't wanna write a book. i think i can get out what i want to say in a succint manner, but i don't want too short of an essay.

call gardner and ask...i did and was told 1 page, single spaced, but others were told different things....do a search and you'll find lots of talk about this topic....mostly from me i think!

My personal statement was 2 pages double spaced. It shouldn't be too long so perhaps 1.5-2 pages should suffice. Just be honest and you should not have to worry too much about it. Good luck...

When I applied I was advised by the doctor who wrote a letter for me (and was a graduate of SUSOM) to keep it to a page.
