wish to transfer from ross to saba

hi all. i am currently a ross student. i took step 1 a month ago and passed it with 226. my gpa at ross is 3.4. i have nothing against ross except that it is toooooooo expensive for me. i am a canadian citizen, and simply cant afford it anymore. the tuition in clinicals is 12400USD per semester. i cant pay it with teri loans and canada student loans. i know its bad to transfer, but i can't think of any other options.
secondly, i want to do rotations in NY bqz most of my friends, who r from ross are rotating in ny.
so.... my qs r........should i transfer?
do i stand a decent chance of being accepted at SABA.
does saba have enough clinical spots in the US.
are there many canadians at SABA?
is SABA administration messed up like ROSS....ROSS adminstration is so disorganized(its sad, but very true).
MY Background: went to UofT for undergrads. 28 mcat and 3.2 Undergrad GPA.
thanks, and i would highly appreciate advice from current saba students.

Hey.....fellow UofT grad....there are a lot of Canadians at Saba and a lot of them are from UofT.....have you tried the goverment loans.....if not do that.....and also try major bank line of credit.....try how much can you get out of them with or without a co-signer......and then if none of that works for financing......then only you should try to transfer...and yes Saba is the right choice.....call the Gardner office and find out about clinicals in NY....i have never heard of any complains from student about Saba adminsitration......from my understanding it not going to be a problem....Good Luck

transferring from Ross

I did 12 weeks of core rotations and 12 weeks of electives in New York and had no trouble paying with my Canadian loans + TERI.
You are not the first person I've heard of transferring from Ross to do clinicals. One person I interviewed with said the same thing - but she didn't mention the financing, just the ease of setting up rotations.
Program directors and administrators where I have done rotations also say that Saba is very good about getting paperwork in so there are no hassles for students when they get there.
Good luck!

Pitstar. As you continue to flaunt your personal opinions as absolute statements you further affirm your poor judgement, and ignorance. There is no need to slander and discredit any person or subject covered on this forum in order to make up for your own personal ineptitude.

Loser

The way this pitstar talks about how crappy caribbean medschools are, you'd think he attends Harvard...dude is going to be starting at some school in bulgaria that has a new english med program that isn't even approved in California. So for all the talking he does, his school isn't even on par with Saba...so if I were pitstar, I'd shut the $%^# up!

Actually this California approval doesn't matter to me. I don't understand why everyone is so concerned about this California issue. Cheers.

Well, California approval is important because it is an indication that a school is up to the standards of one of the most strict states in the US. I don't care about practicing in Cali either but, it's good to know that I could if I wanted to.

If you were soooooo wonderful and smart, you'd be at Harvard or Hopkins, not some unapproved program in Bulgaria. That being said, it's up to everyone to find the school that's best for them and it doesn't really matter what some ignorant people, like yourself, say.

PS we can compare stats anytime, as long as you're up for it.

No Cali approval is not important, it just applies to 1 state out of 50. Besides who wants to live in the US anyways (let alone Cali).
