Canadian travelling to Saba

Ill be heading down to Saba this Sept 2003. Im planning on leaving around Aug 20 or so and i plan on bringing my parents with me (they insist on seeing the island and want a vaction too. LOL). I was wondering how to get to Saba. I am under the impression that i should fly to St.Martin and from there take a ferry or Windair to Saba airport. Is this true? I was thinking about purchasing a one-way ticket for myself and round-trip tickets for my parents to St.Martin. Is this the way to go? Also i should note that i am Canadain. Do i need anything other than a Canadian passport and driver's license for my journey? And also, for those of you who have already purchased your tickets, how did you go about finding the best prices?

Thanx again!

Flying to Saba

Hey Ron,

I am a canadian student going down to Saba this fall as well. I found the best price for myself is to do a return ticket. Flying to San Juan for $909 this ticket is open for 6 months and then a cheap ticket from san juan to st.marteen return is about $200. These are canadian prices. I went through travel cuts. You recieve a student discount. Hope that helped.

tickets

Hi Ron,

I found tickets from Toronto to Saba for $1100 on expedia.ca . Travelocity is more expensive. You fly Toronto to North Carolina then to St Maartin then to Saba. Go to expedia to see if there are any good deals from Vancouver. Good luck.

By the way try to stay away from the boat because I've heard that it is a rough ride Plus you will have a lot of luggage.

Saskatoon to Saba

Hey Jana,

Thanks for the info, I'm from Saskatoon and will be flying down Aug 28th-ish. The Cheapest I found was over $2000, mind you I havn't really started looking yet.

I'll keep everyone post on prices.....I'm off to travel cuts right now!!!! I'm guess that I can't book flights to Saba from St. M. from here??

St.maarten to Saba

Hey,

You don't actually need to book a flight to Saba from St.Maarten. You can do that when you get there. Keep in mind the amount of stuff you are going to be bringing. The little one engine planes have a low weight limit. So wait until you get to St.Maarten. That way you can find out the weight limit and if you are over do the ferry or if not fly.
