ANYBODY WANNA TRY A CHARTER AIRCRAFT TO SABA FROM SXM?
In light of the uncertainity regarding getting a seat in WindAir between Dec 31-Jan 2nd, are there some Saba Students out there reporting for the January semester who may want to try a chartered aircarft? You can visit the website for the Windward Express... http://www.windwardexpress.com/ ...and the capacity of the aircraft is 9 passengers, which I think is manageable, but the cost...? I have contacted them and I expect to hear from them shortly.
Just wondering if there are 8 other people that we can pool up resources together and charter this aircarft to Saba instead of being at the mercy of the WindAir. As it is, most of us might end up missing the orientation on Jan 3rd if we have to rely on WindAir because technically they are fully booked between Dec 31-till Jan 2nd...or maybe 3rd. If nine of us could get ourselves organized, then we could charter the Windward Express to Saba, so long as we agree on the date first. So who is there that might support this idea? Let'sknow your opinion on this forum first before we proceed to charter. Polo. |

I got the info!
Hi all,
This is exactly what people should do if they are unable to obtain reservations on WinAir. I just called the Windward Express Airways number at 011-599-545-2001 and spoke with a gentleman. He stated that the price to charter the whole plane for a one way flight from St. Maarten to Saba on 12/30 shall be aprroximately $700. If you guys can come up with nine people, which is the max the airplane holds, that comes out to $78 per person! Not bad! And they are not so strict on luggage as well I believe. Please verify all info by calling that number again. I would suggest that all of you come up with a plan fairly quickly and communicate on this thread. The gentleman stated that you should contact them as soon as possible as even they book up during the holiday season. Hope this helped!

Aircraft Charter
Ducman,
Thanks a lot...I emailed the Windward Express and yet to hear from them. Thanks a lot for moving fast to contact them. I'll definitely phone them on Friday and ask for more details about the luggage capacity. This is a good idea because the fare generally comes closer to the one charged by WindAir. This is a very opportunity indeed. I am just wondering how many people out there would like to use this facility...Count me in though. We have to agree on the date though! Those interested, please sound off! Polo |
