TAXES!!

Hi all,

As most of you know - I am starting in Jan 2005. I was planning on leaving all of my tax information for my parents and have them receive all of my W2, student loan interest info, stock info, etc... at the beginning of next year. Then they can send the info to my accountant to file taxes.

Does anybody have any other experience filing taxes...

Just thought this may be a good topic and help some other people out as well.

Regards,

Same here

Hey Ducman,
Those are my plans for taxes too. I don't have alot of extra stuff like stocks and such to worry with, so I always file one of those ez teletax forms. Guess it might be harder calling from Saba than from here in TN.
Oh well, such is life. It's all good.

and for canadians?

hi,

In the risk of always sounding always/too canadian (with all those quesions for canadians)... I was wondering if people were used their tuition fees when it comes to filling income tax and things like that... if so...does the school provides you with those income tax slips like universities????

taxes

I always file my own taxes through Quickens't Turbo Tax on the web. It's really fast (usually about 30 min on 56k connection) and easy, and costs about $13 I think. Takes all the work out of preparing taxes, even if they are somewhat complicated. I usually get my money by the beginning of February, if I have a refund coming. Of course, I don't have huge stock portfolios or lots of farm land.....

I think I'll have my parents mail me my W2 and stuff so I can do that again.

Taxes

Hey Ducky ,

I filed taxes from here. My parents collected the info, my dad did the initial work for me, and then sent it here and I signed it, mailed it back via ICS. The school will also sent it for you.

No worries. I got my return!
