Family

Hey guys,

I was just curious whether or not anybody has brought any one of thier family members (e.g., mom, dad, etc.) with them to the island of Saba to live there for the 20months. Please respond. Thanks.

People bring their spouses and kids all the time. Don't know about older family members.

Older family members

Wolf,

Both my dad and father-in-law are willing to leave our moms and follow my wife and I down to Saba (especially after seeing the pics)

Yeah, I know. My mom is already making plans to come visit, and we aren't even down there yet.

Extended Family

I only know about 1 cousin and a sister, but I have heard that someone plans to bring their kids and their parents. Extended family is not a bad idea. Good support group. I think retired folks (by that I mean "older" people, not Silicon Valley millionaires) might find the island very enjoyable.

Best of Luck!

So if...

So what you're saying is that it would be okay to bring my questionable extended pig family to the island. Many people say that I look like a pig! Would I need to have a DNA test to prove they're my genetic/biological family?

Fun fun. I'd be more than happy to draw some blood outta ya. Bruises optional. We even have PCR machines here!

Let's see...

Pork chops=> $6.99
PCR machine => 4000

Positive match for PIG DNA family==> Priceless

Oh no you don't

Sorry Microman, I've read stories about your blood drawing experiences. (I visited your AUC forum and noticed that you tried to scare those poor little first semester kids off the island with your 12 gauge needle.) Poor first semester students at AUC get a free round of antibiotics because they get cellulitis from their torturous peers. I guess when they say you get some clinical experience your 4th +5th semesters-- it's diagnosis infections from those sticks. Mean ol' Jeff.

Don't worry about the PCR testing, I'll just whip up some aggrose gel in biochem lab today and run my own sample. Sticking that pig might be hard-well, actually not as hard as wrestling him (slippery thing)!
