    Arriving at Saba

    Hi Guys,

I am planning my travel to Saba from Toronto and I have a quick question. There are number of ideal flights (single day, cost-effective) that arrive at St. Maarten at 3:09 pm. Is this enough time to clear immigration and get to the dock for 4:30 pm? I called the ferry service and the lady said she wasn't really sure, that it would be close. Is it worth a shot? Any insight from experienced travelers would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Nope - 2 or 3 flights (including a large Air France flight) all land at about that time each day. The line up at Customs will be quite long and then driving across St Maarten, in particular driving across the bridge that leads over strait into the lagoon, can be a slow process. My advice is to land, book at room at the Sonesta Maho, and take advantage of their all-you-can-eat-and-drink bracelet. You can then head over the next day. Either the Dawn or the Edge will be going most days. They alternate. The Edge is faster and a little smooter.

Would anyone be kind enough to tell me where Sonesta Maho is located? I may find myself in a similar predicament as Ryanodine. Is the line at Customs always very long? If I were to book a flight with winair rather than attempting to ride the Dawn or the Edge, roughly how much time would it take me to go through Customs, pick up my luggage, and arrive at the winair terminal of the airport?
