Books
For the most part, I would classify the "required" books as "highly recommeneded". Nobody is going to walk down the aisle to see if you bought the book. Few professors actually assign reading in the textbooks (Physio, Genetics and Micro being the only things I can recall at the moment).
Everything gets pretty much sold or given away by the time you leave. There was a rash of folks about three semesters ago who left the island without selling their cars (most were sold by friends during the next semester). Books are usually fairly easy to get on the island from one semester to the next. After first semester (when I brought down all the "required" and "recommended" books plus some others), I would keep my eye out during the semester for next semester's books. Those I just couldn't find, I would pick up when I went home at break (or have someone send one to me). As for Amazon, they don't ship to Saba (or the Netheralands Antilles). I would have books and other things shipped to my stateside mailing service and they would get to Saba within 2 to 4 weeks. Best of Luck! |

I always use bookfinder4u and it claimes to search 75 bookstores in just 5 seconds. not sure they do search that many, but their search result is pretty comprehensive, at least more comprehensive than addall for books I looked up. the link is at: http://www.bookfinder4u.com Alex |

Older Editions
Older editions are probably not bad. It really depends on the course. I just saw the new Anatomy BRS the other day though and I would definitely spend the extra money for that if you can.
Best of Luck! |

buying books
Even though there are 2 required books listed for both Histology and Embryology, is one of them much better than the other (is it really necessary to get both for each subject?)
Also, I heard the book for the informatics class isn't necessary - what would you all say? Thanks! |
