Hey, new here, just got accepted for May '08 about a month or two ago. I bought about half the books Saba requires. I based my purchases off of what people in the forums have been saying are good to have and what books are pointless. I bought the BRS books for physiology and anatomy, along with the dissection guide (Something thats I found useful in college embryology and anatomy) as well as the textbook for anatomy. I picked up the Sadler's Medical Embryology, but I've already taken an embryology class and didn't feel like I needed all the books.
Something that came as a bit of a surprise to me was that these books aren't like college textbooks. They are thin and paperback, and are easy to carry in luggage. I think that it would be cheaper and easier to buy the books off of Amazon or w/e and just bring them down in your luggage IMO. I look forward to meeting everybody this May. |

Hi all,
I will be joining saba for May 2008 session. A friend of mine told me that it is unnecessary to buy the books since everyone studies from prof's notes. Can anyone please confirm this for me? I'd really like to save the money if this is so But if the text books are indeed required are their copies at the library we can use? or is there a place from where I can get 2nd hand books? thanks! what brs is to normal books, informatics is to brs. it pretty much sums up everything you need for the step 1 in one concise book. if interested i am willing to mail it to you from new york so you can get a leg up on reading it, no doubt you will ace the rest of saba's curriculum
