wow

Wow, I'll definately keep that in mind!

More established airlines are usually good with that (what you mentioned with AA)

And also, for flying in general, keep an eye out for "overbooked flights", and consider volunteering your seat if you get the chance and have the time!

My mom, brother, and I, were on our way back from Taiwan, and were on a layover in Osaka, Japan. The Northwest flight to New York we were on was overbooked, and by volunteering our seats up, we each got a $400 check, and (but) were put on a flight 30 minutes later that flew us first class from Osaka to Honolulu to Los Angeles to Washington Dulles to Binghamton. Long flights, but I think that will be one of the few times in my life where I am able to fly first class! (and make $400 in a matter of a few hours for sleeping and eating):P

WinAir cheaper flights

I looked on the web site and then called winair directly and got the flight for half the price on the web site so before you book on-line pay the long distance call you may save 60-70 dollars. the number is 011-545-4230
My flight from sxm to saba return was 58 dollars.

I'm not sure if it depends on the flight, but my stopover is around 2 hours.

I arrive at Suan Juan, Puerto Rico at 1:35 pm
and then my flight departs at 3:50 to St. Maartin

My ticket cost 236 on expedia.com but my flight has 2 stops so it kinda sucks ...on the bright side its a good price =)

Stopovers

Stopovers are completely dependent on which flights you book. Ask your travel agent or check the screen when you book. My first stopover in San Juan was overnight. My last one, we had to run to make the connecting flight and our bags came two days later.

Best of Luck!

winair to saba

do NOT call them - a call from the state to them for the 20min you are going to need to get it finished will cost $70.

Toss an email to reservations@fly-winair.com or res2@fly-winair.com
Ask for the special which is a roundtrip flight from st. maarten to saba for $58.

If you try to get a single way flight it will cost you $95. I personally will be 'missing' my return flight

Hey TraumaRN (or anyone else who knows),

I emailed Win-air abt the 58$ special n this is the reply I got:

"About the $58.00 fare that is our promotional rate that we have.
However you will have to leave before 12:00pm and return after 4:00pm
and the maximum stay will be 3 days minimum stay a couple of hours."

I understand not taking the return flight...but is it correct that u have to catch a flight frm SXM before 12pm???

Thanx!

Yeah - basically their special requires you to take like the 8am or the 10am flight to saba. The return flight... well you are gonna 'miss' that one so whatever they have free.

Not sure if I mentioned it but their 1way fare was 95+. ouch.

Best Location

Hi,
Does anybody know what the best city in the US is, from which to travel to SXM for the best air deals ?? Is it Miami or Texas or ????
How about the east coast or california ?? Are the tickets super expensive from these two places ??
