The website for the ferry system has times listed for the ships departure and arrival but it does not say how to purchase a ticket. Do you just show up before it leaves and hope they have room?

Air Transat

Hey guys,

Im flying out from Toronto and was wondering if anyone has flown with Air Transat to SXM before...My travel agent was telling me that you cannot get AIR ONLY with AirTrans, you have to get a travel package in order to be allowed on for the flight (I hope this wasn't a sales gimmick!!!)...I've been trying to contact Air Trans, but am finding their wait times to be massive...so, I thought I'd try on here first...

Toronto --> SXM (only runs on Saturdays, which means if its available, then i will be leaving Tor on either Aug 26 or Sept 1...)

Also, what's the deal with:
1) SABA changing dates of the finals (how often does it happen...etc)
2) Cheaper to buy a return ticket for breaks (i.e. SXM - Tor - SXM)...how abouts do I buy this...from SXM airport or a travel agent in St. Marteen...any help would be appreciated...

Right now, for 1-way from TOR to SXM im getting about USD 500...

^that a bit expensive for 1 way, but I guess if its convenient then its fine. Take the Sep 1 flight, unless you like getting bored.
American Airline Return trip from SXM-TOR-SXM via stop at Miami cost me about 800 bux CDN this time.

I'm looking into buying a round trip for the xmas break and was wondering when is the best time to purchase it?

I've been on the aa.com and it appears that some of the flights from SXM-YYZ-SXM are starting to creep up (from CDN 880 to now CDN 970!!!). Is there hope that the prices will be going down in the next month or so? Should I just be patient? What are your previous experiences when booking flights during this time?

Any help would be appreciated...

Im so excited!!!

Is that all inclusive (tax and everything) and you ordered directly online? When did you book your flight?

Regarding Flight to SXM

hey guys, I need some answers regarding connecting flights. I am flying through AA from Toronto to Miami then from Miami to SXM. I need to know about the checked baggage, do they transfer it to the connecting aircraft or do I have to claim it first and then recheck it onto the next flight?

How does connecting flights work? I've only ever done direct flights in the past. What if you miss your connection...

From miami to st-maarten you don't need to check your baggages...they will transfer your suitcases for you.
