May Admission drop due to the loans?

I am very curious to know the precentage drop of students enrolling in the May class since they lost the Teri loans.

I wonder if SABA will still be consider one of the Big 4. I KNOW to be in the BIG 4, the med. school needs to be licence in all 50 states. However, what is the point to be license in all 50 states if only a small precentage of people can attend due to loans.

I REALLY hope that the loan program that they are working on will take into consideration Living Expenses AND does not need to be paid back within 90 days after completing med. school.

I want to apply to SABA but I am holding off until I see what happens in with the loans. I am sure many other people are doing the same.

Watching and waiting.

they made it seem like they defenitly had a solution worked out, but they couldn't have any details. I'm not a big fan of situations like these, but what can you do except white knuckle it?

I've already applied, been accepted, and now have to confirm my seat. I'm still feeling confident that something will work out, otherwise the entire school would be screwed if they can't get students to pay.

Hey Mike, I feel for you. Let me know when you hear something. How are you financing it now or are you still waiting?

This is a horrible situation indeed!! I don't know if the school's "loan program" is going to be enough! I, myself, already recieved all my loans and am essentially in my fourth year. My little sis is considering carrib as a backup plan if she doesn't make it into a US allopathic schools. I WILL tell her NOT to consider SABA, due to its loss of all loan programs. St. Georges seems to be a more intelligent choice at this time(great rotations, federal loans and stability) . Don't get me wrong, I loved the island and the school, but I would not have my baby sis worrying about financial issues on top of the stress of med school....

just my 2 cents
