Exclamation Heads up! Saba has no Peds...

Seems the rumors are true. With the passing of Lincoln, Saba apparently has no greenbook-for-specialty Peds rotations. This will be a problem in several states. So be careful...

Salutations "remart":

Where did you hear this news? I know that Lincoln is no longer Saba friendly but I completed my pediatrics rotation at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. There are other Saba students who also just completed their pediatrics rotation here as well. Please clarify.

Why not? How do these relationships between a school (e.g., Saba) and a hospital (e.g., Lincoln) work? Is it a money thing, or is the hospital saying something about a school's students?

Very good question. I'm very interested to know.
At the University of Ontario, the uni did not pay the hospitals. Rather, the hospitals were more than happy to accept the nursing students who worked for free. When we were looking for final year placements, school recognition and student's profile played a huge part in getting a spot in a specialty floor like emergency and ICU.

schools sign contracts with different hospitals and pay a fee for each student that is placed there....you didn't think these places do it for free did you?

No, they wouldn't be doing it for free. But why would Saba discontinue this financial relationship? Or did Lincoln discontinue the relationship? And if so, why? That's what I was asking.

Gotcha. Hopefully, losing clinical affiliates won't be a trend for Saba in the future.
