Clinicals

How tough are the clinicals that are in ACGME accredited hospitals? are they readily available to all students? or there is waiting involved?

Most of Saba's clinical sites are ACGME accredited either by the specific specialty ( IE OB, Gastro etc.) or by the family practice umbrella. Meaning that the residency program for family practice is ACGME accredited and therefore all rotations there are accredited. Some states (from what I understand) do not accept this umbrella for licensure. For further info, you can ask the clinical dept or go to this link ACGME Accredited Program and Institutional Listing - Public Access and click on sponsored programs. You can see what is accredited by state or specialty. It's pretty helpful when you're setting up your electives in 4th year.

Hope this helps

I actually did some research today and here are the affiliated ACGME accredited institutions:
-Brookdale, NY
-Union Memorial, MD
-Saint Luke and Saint Mary, MO
-Lincoln Medical center, NY
-Rochester general , NY
-Wyckoff heights, NY(IM,FM)
-Jackson park, IL(FM)
-St. Mary ,CT (SG)

The question is can you easily get electives there without having to lose time?
How did you feel SABA prepared you for step I?

That's only some of them. No, you don't have to lose anytime as long as you are flexible and stay on top of your stuff. I'm speaking about cores. Electives are easy to get by comparison.

Freida

FREIDA is the most used site for validating if residents/residency is located at a specific institution.

For example, view all Peds residency programs in Alabama and see if your institution has residents rotate there for even one month (making it Greenbook).
