Accepted May 08, applying for deferral due to financial reasons to Sep. 08.
CumGPA: 3.91
SciGPA: 3.85
MCAT: 30T
Volunteer: 150+ hrs clinical, far too many to keep a track of non clinical
Publish: 1 article, co-author
Degree: BSc. Physiology (specializing in cardio and endo)
Would these stats be conducive to a sep 08 admission based on deferral? Let me know. Thanks

I was just recently accepted. I have also been accepted to AUC and St. Matthew's, but I'm 95% sure I'm going to go to SUSOM.
3.9 GPA (overall and science)

actually maesarti, no I don't know the answer. I ask because the folks at SABA told me that few people are able to transfer from May to Sep due to their grades. And I am really nervous about the entire process, given that the lowest GPA I have seen on this thread is around a 3.7...then again I didn't read through the entirety of it.
If your statement was a vote of confidence, I thank you, but I would like to know sstill abotu the deferral process

The average admitted GPA is DEFINITELY NOT 3.7
If that were true, then Carib med schools wouldn't have the type of reputation they currently hold.

They are not accepting deferrals ONLY because they do not have enough students for May08, so they're desperately filling them up ... notice how people are just accepted left right and centre with a stamped " no possibility for deferral ".

You've gotta use some mad skills and reason with them and get yourself out to Sept cause seriously, how can you attend if you can't get the money on time!?

Now, if they don't a rat's a*s about your situation and only care if you have the money of not for their May08 session ... then, you probably wouldn't want to attend such a school anyway.

Best of luck to you.
And sorry if my previous message sounded like a jerk, it was definitely a "you've got awesome stats, go for it, chin up and defer that mother"!

Hey Pilot...

I was originally accepted for the May class and applied for deferral due to financial reasons as well. My deferral was accepted with no difficulty so you should definitely give it a shot

Good Luck
